How to Make Your Perfume Last 8+ Hours
By Scenteura Team · 24 April 2026
Simple application techniques that ensure your Scenteura perfume stays with you all day long.
The longevity of your fragrance depends far more on how and where you apply it than on the perfume itself. Follow these professional tips and your Scenteura scent will stay with you from morning to midnight.
Moisturise first. Dry skin does not hold fragrance well. Apply an unscented moisturiser and allow it to absorb for a minute before spritzing your perfume. The oils in the lotion give the fragrance molecules something to bind to.
Target your pulse points. These are areas where blood vessels are close to the skin surface, generating warmth that continuously volatilises your fragrance. The classic pulse points are: wrists, the sides of the neck, behind the ears, inside of elbows, and back of knees.
Do not rub your wrists together. This is the most common mistake. Rubbing breaks down the top notes and flattens the complexity of your fragrance. Simply spray and let it dry naturally.
Spray into the air and walk through. For a lighter, all-over application especially for floral and fresh scents, spray a cloud in front of you and walk through it slowly.
Store correctly. Keep your perfumes away from heat, light, and humidity. A cool, dark drawer or cupboard preserves the fragrance molecules far better than a sunny bathroom shelf.
